The Science and Technology of Climate Change
On June 13, 2006, Université Total held a one-day conference open to internal and external audiences on The Science and Technology of Climate Change. | Through presentations by distinguished experts from the French Academy of Science, Collège de France and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the conference aimed to present the keys to the scientific debate and then discuss the solutions being considered by industries with a major stake in the climate issue. Industry participants included PSA Peugeot Citroën, nuclear specialist Areva and senior executives from Total. The French National Institute for Agricultural Research (INRA) provided insights on the potential of biomass, while the French Environment and Energy Agency (ADEME) reviewed the French government’s areas of focus in terms of energy policy. |
