The program’s main educational objectives were to: - Provide an overview of the strategy and management issues facing a major international energy company. - Open a window onto the working world (enrolment in the Summer School can be combined with internships at Total). - Foster awareness of the richness of international and cultural diversity, a core focus of the program. Five topics representing the key issues for an international oil and chemical company were covered and discussed during the week: - Economic outlook: trends in world energy supply and demand and scenarios for the future. - Geopolitics: tensions, uncertainties, and strategies of the major energy players. - Future of energy: oil and gas, renewable energies, nuclear power and other options. - Environment and climate change. - Corporate Social Responsibility: combining a values framework with the diversity of countries, people and situations in our businesses.
