A Founding Member of France's Industrial Safety Culture Institute (ICSI)

Created in 2004, the Industrial Safety Culture Institute (ICSI) promotes industrial safety among its stakeholders by designing and deploying training and research programs to address common concerns. One such initiative is the introduction, with the support of two engineering schools (Institut National Polytechnique de Toulouse and Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Chimie et de Physique de Bordeaux), of a 13-month specialized master’s program in Comprehensive Technological Risk Management.

 

A number of Total experts provide instruction, bridging the gap between the theory taught in universities and the practices encountered in industry. The 20 or so engineers and scientists who graduate from the program each year are qualified to recommend and implement actions to strengthen risk management in industry through the application of appropriate methods.
